5) Plenary SG/WG placement options for next week
Three options to stay in 802 "business":
i) Renew 802.3 RE study group - Michael has suggested to base the
request on a narrow scope - time of arrival information extension at MAC
interface.
ii) Start a study group at 802.1. Dirceu has pointed out that there
is no such a thing as a 802.1 SG (not in the recent three years).
iii) Go for an executive committee.
There is a consensus that we should try all three options. Michael is
going to talk to .1 and .3 people, to probe the options listed. If no
success on any front, perhaps the only alternative is to create a
"Industry Standard". This should be a last resort alternative.
6) Next meeting:
a) Discussion of pacing (small portion).
b) Nail down details of subscription (large portion).
