The January 1999 802.5 interim meeting will be held in York, UK, during the period January 18-22, 1999. The meeting will be hosted by Madge Networks. The meeting will be held at:
Because of the potentially busy timetable this time, we have provisionally allocated the whole week, Monday to Friday, for the meeting. It is anticipated that the meeting will break up at lunchtime on Friday.
York is a popular tourist location at any time of year, and we encourage you to stay a little longer to take in the sights of the city and the surrounding countryside. York has a famous Viking and Roman past, which can be experienced both through the architecture of the walled city and though many museums and exhibits. Come here, and you'll come away dripping with heritage. Staff here wear blinkers at work to avoid dangerous history-overload. I think it would be highly appropriate for everyone to stay for a holiday.
Ask around in 802.5 and I trust you'll find positive reports of last year's January interim. We might be Madge Networks now, but the hospitality remains the same.

A block of 20 rooms has been reserved for the meeting for those who book before the cutoff date of December 19th, 1998. The hotel is unable to hold unbooked rooms after this date, although bookings may still be possible subject to availability. A smaller block of rooms has been reserved for the night of January 16th for those people wishing to stay a week, to benefit from lower air fares.
Please note that the Grange is a small hotel and those who book early may get the best rooms. If you are bringing a partner or have any special requirements you should book early. Late bookers may not get the conference rate and may have to be accomodated in other hotels.
Once the meeting details are confirmed, please make your bookings with the hotel directly, stating that you are attending the Madge conference to obtain the conference rates.
If you have problems with your bookings, please contact Sheila Culpin for assistance.
In addition to booking with the hotel, please let Sheila Culpin know that you will be attending. Please state for which days you are booked into the Hotel, and which meeting days you are attending. Day delegates should contact Sheila with the same information, by December 19th if possible. These numbers are needed to calculate room size, lunch requirements etc.
