Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBF] SP text for 11-22/0328r0 (Discussion on Threshold-based Sensing)

Hi Claudio,

Thank you for the suggestion. My intention is to identify in the draft a possible metric that could be used to quantify CSI variation, but not as an example. How to compute it can be demonstrated via an example in the draft. Again, my intention is to make the “difference” in the motion text below to more specific:

    • The difference between the current measured CSI and the previous measured CSI is quantified. The difference is referred to as CSI variation.

Per your comments and the comments from Ali and Xiandong,

Do you agree that TGbf should define the “CSI variation” based on a reference metric in the threshold-based reporting phase?

Note:

-          The computation of CSI variation should be based on this reference metric and the computing method is implementation dependent.

-          Should reference metric be made normative or informative is TBD.

Best regards,

Ray

Thanks, Rui.

IMO, I don’t think the note adds to the SP text and I suggest removing it.  Also, if the intent is to identify in the draft a possible metric that could be used to quantify CSI variations as an example, I suggest clearly stating so in the SP text.

Again, thank you.

Claudio

Hi Claudio,

Thank you for quick prompt.

Regarding your first comment, I am trying to use less words to avoid confusion.  How about changing the sentence to “The computation of CSI variation should be based on this reference metric.”?   It is similar to say “The computation of CQI should be based on averaged SNR”.

Regarding your second question, I believe it should informative. I am not sure where we should put it. Again, using CQI as an example, I am copying the sub-clause below from REVme, which describes the relationship between reported CQI and SNR (reference metric). Of course, we all know what SNR is. If we can make the reference metric clear enough in a few sentences, showing an example definitely will help.

9.4.1.67 HE CQI Report field(11ax)

The HE CQI Report field carries the per-RU average SNRs of each space-time stream, where each per-RU

average SNR is the arithmetic mean of the SNR in decibels over a 26-tone RU for which the feedback is

being requested. The HE CQI Report field contains information about the quality of the link.

Best regards,

Ray

Thanks, Rui.  Two comments:

  • It looks like the note in your text is incomplete (“… is based upon”?).
  • Would the reference metric be included in the amendment as informative (that is, an example of a metric that could be implemented – say in a note or an appendix) or as normative?

Thanks,

Claudio

Hi All,

Thank you all for the comments and the discussions on the contribution 11-22/0328r0 (Discussion on Threshold-based Sensing).

Per the comments to the SP I presented at the end of the contribution, I modified the SP text as below.  Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Do you agree that TGbf should define the “CSI variation” based on a reference metric in the threshold-based measurement and reporting procedure?

Note: The reference metric defines what the CSI variation computation is based upon

Best regards,

Ray
