And lest I forget, the most difficult
challenge to be faced is that data privacy is not linked to any single
communication medium when the source of the information has multiple means for communicating
as do ALL of today’s personal devices. To paraphrase the PAR, while ensuring
data privacy on 802.11 links is “necessary, it is NOT sufficient” to ensure an
individual’s data privacy! At some point, this will need to be addressed … Cheers, RR From: Harkins, Daniel

Hi Rob, et al,
I was unable to make the RCM call today but I do have some comments on the
proposed PAR. Please see
the attached marked-up version of your document.
Specifically, I don't think "ethics" really has anything to do with
the problem. Everyone can be ethical and
there can still be privacy violations. Privacy is an issue of control over
one's PII, it is not a vague assurance
that other people will ethically handle other's PII. I think the PAR should be
written to reflect that
reality.

I would like to request some time to discuss to PAR for privacy during the RCM
call, I uploaded two documents: 11/20-0854 and 11/20-0855. Thanks Rob From: Ansley, Carol
[mailto:carol.ansley@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] --- This message came
from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector --- Greetings everyone, The next RCM SG teleconference is coming up on Monday June 8 at 10:00amEDT. As a reminder, the study group is tasked with
developing a PAR and CSD for random and changing MAC address-related changes to
802.11 and another PAR and CSD for general privacy-related improvements to
802.11. Please consider making a contribution on either of the
two topics. Regards, Carol Ansley
