Just to be clear: deprecation is easy: you just put "X is deprecated" in one or two places.
Removing a feature can indeed be a lot of work, but that seldom happens (and you have to mark the feature obsolete and subject to removal first, too).
Deprecation just means you'd not going to worry about maintaining that feature. Thanks, Mark --
