Re: [STDS-802-16-MOBILE] [Handoff]Minutes from 6/24 telecon
Dear Prakash
You mean 5PM Deadline on 6/25 is a west coast time or AOE or what?
I checked AOE on http://ieee802.org/16/tge/ballot14/ballotform14b.html and
it says dead
line will be Sat 3:59 AM in West Coast.
You are suggesting this time (5PM on 6/25) for Handoff Adhoc or this
applies to all 16e
members?
Thanks
Ronny

The following harmonized contributions will be submitted as HO adhoc
consensus
contributions prior to the 5 PM deadline on 6/25. Please submit these using
the standard
naming conventions (see Brian's earlier email on this subject) to the TGe
upload
directory (not the temporary file store). Revisions may be needed next week
based on
more thorough review from the group.
1. HO optimization flags r2
- NOTE to Phil Barber - Ronny Kim has asked that text related to data
pending flag + 2
backbone messages be added as informative text per prior emails on this
subject.
- Ronny will try to provide some sample text to Phil on above points.
- NOTE to Phil - request to add text to further clarify the definition and
purpose of
bit #3 (omit network address acquisition management messages) in HO
optimization flags
- Unresolved OPEN (Jung-won/Ronny) - currently there are no HO optimization
flags to
indicate if an MSS has pending data to transmit on the UL during HO and IP
address
acquisition should be delayed. Needs further analysis but will not gate
submission of
this contribution today.
- Phil will submit a comment with this contribution
2. NBR-ADV r0
- This is a revision to the MOB-NBR-ADV message as discussed during the
handoff adhoc
F2F. There was no other feedback during the call.
- Phil will submit a comment with this contribution
3. Method for scanning neighbor BSs periodically
- Again, no specific issues were raised regarding this contribution
- Kihyoung will submit a comment with this contribution
4. Clarification of Paging Announce
- Jungje and BJ Kim discussed Jungje's objection to deleting PAGING CYCLE
and PAGING
OFFSET in the Paging Announce message. The issue was resolved and these 2
fields will be
reincorporated in the Paging Announce message.
- BJ Kim will submit a comment with this contribution
5. 55r5 - resource retain time
- Only suggested correction was to fix the title on the second page.
- Jungje Son will submit a comment with this contribution
The following contributions will be submitted by the respective
contribution authors as
non-consensus contributions. Discusssions will continue on the reflector
next week to
determine if one or more of these could be revised as needed and elevated
to consensus
contributions.
* Define_HO_Rangingcodes rev
- Jungje Son will submit with a comment
* Safety Channel HO
- Jungje Son will submit as a comment
* Soft HO (SHO) and Fast BS Switching (FBSS)
- Harmonization process continued among contribution authors. A preliminary
harmonized
contribution will be submitted before the Friday deadline.
- Current plan is to combine PHY contributions into one and MAC
contributions for SHO
and FBSS into one.
- Mo-Han Fong / Mary Chion will submit comments with these contributions
We also discussed the following new contributions, with resolution as
under:
* Neighbor scanning and preferred cells - Kamran/Masoud
- The contribution wanted to confirm if NBR-ADV is broadcast or unicast -
answer is
broadcast
- The contributions also recommends support for 3 logical levels of
preferred neighbor
BSs. This may be an implementation/operational issue and not a spec issue
- Kamran/Masoud will submit a comment for discussion at the July meeting in
Portland
* C802.16e-04_120r1 - Branislav
- Contribution was discussed. Ronny Kim's opinion was that Bit #3 in HO
optimization
flags serves the same purpose as the NBR-ADV flag proposed in this
contribution.
- Ronny Kim to send out a brief response regarding this contribution to the
reflector
- Author might want to submit as personal contribution anyway before the
Friday deadline
and revise later based on HO adhoc group input
