stds-802-16: Fwd: POSTPONING THE BRAN#25 ON SEPTEMBER 18-21

This forwarded message indicates that next week's scheduled ETSI BRAN
meeting has been postponed. I'm not sure why I didn't see anything on
the BRAN web site or reflector.

>Dear BRAN colleagues,
>
>I would like to announce that I POSTPONE the BRAN#25 meeting in Redmond,
>WA, USA on September 18-21, after I consulted this issue with my working
>group chairs and received a big support for taking this step . Further
>more I propose October 23-26 as the new date for BRAN#25 and have asked
>ETSI Secretariat to book the ETSI meeting rooms in Sophia Antipolis. My
>reasons are as follows:
>
>we will high probably be severely disrupted by the consequences of the
>horrible terror attacks in the US. It is uncertain how the situation
>will evolve in the next few days, the logistics for travelling to US is
>unclear now and many companies have banned any air-travelling, in
>particular to US. As a result, it is uncertain how many people will
>turn up and even if there is high attendance, I can hardly imagine that
>they are in an appropriate mood, as I feel it with myself. I.e. besides
>logistical considerations, the emotional and human factors play a great
>role in my decision and speak for postponing the BRAN#25 meeting. In
>addition I have received several emails from our Japanese colleagues
>requesting to postpone the BRAN meeting. I propose the new date because:
>firstly a HiperACCESS interim meeting is scheduled in this week,
>secondly Joint Task Force group of HiperLAN2/HiSWANa will meet in this
>week which means many H2 people are in Sophia and the most important
>issue, the situation may evolve within the next weeks. If there are
>needs for some decisions before BRAN#25, we should try to use other
>instruments we have as conference calls, working group small
>face-to-face meetings and approval of documents by correspondence in
>very urgent cases. I hope this decision has your support.
