RE: stds-802-16: Session #30 agenda

The value of the joint plenary will be dependent upon the interests of the individual.  I'd think from an 802.16 perspective it is becoming more useful to be able to keep track of emerging groups like Handoff, WPP, Mesh, etc., but it certainly isn't a requirement.  Some people will find it critical and others will find it intensely boring.  I'd suggest that if the 802.16 WG doesn't want to be part of the joint plenary that a delegate/liaison attend and report the highlights back to the group sometime early in the week.  This will provide the group or interested individuals the opportunity to respond in a timely manner to events that arise, and it will prevent the entire WG from having to attend.

This joint plenary is not something new. You can look at the agenda at 802.11 web site (under Session Info, click on the March meeting agenda. In the agenda spreadsheet select the "Joint 11-15-18-19-20" tab). Basically, you get an update on what other wireless groups are doing.

I would have to agree with Ken and Remi.  We really need to see a proposed agenda, or at least a preliminary list of talking points in order to assess the benefit of a joint session.
