[STDS-802-16] Question regarding feedback request extended subheader
Dear 802.16 working group members,
Section 6.3.2.2.7.3 and table 13f on
802.16-2005e define the feedback request extended subheader. We have
some issues to be clarified:
1. This subheader is sent by the BS
in order to provide UL allocation for a fast-feedback channel transmission.
There are 3 fields in the subheader format described on table 13f which
are irrelevant for fast-feedback allocation. They are the ¡§OFDMA Symbol
offset¡¨, ¡§Subchannel offset¡¨ and ¡§No. slot¡¨. We believe a more
suitable definition for fast-feedback channel transmission will be similar
to CQICH allocation defined on table 300. It shall include for instance
a 6 bit field of ¡§Allocation offset¡¨ to the fast-feedback channel region,
a ¡§Period¡¨ field etc.
2. In case the spec for this subheader
remains without the ¡§Allocation offset¡¨ field, should the fast-feedback
subheader also be sent when the feedback request extended subheader is
sent in order to allocate a slot on the fast-feedback channel?
3. Is it correct that the ¡§Frame Offset¡¨
indicates the allocation applied to a frame ahead of the current one? A
better definition will be similar to the CQICH where 3 bit ¡§Frame offset¡¨
is defined: ¡§The SS starts reporting at the frame of which the number
has the same 3 LSB as the specified frame offset. If the current frame
is specified, the SS should start reporting in eight frames¡¨
Thanks,
