Dear Anshuman

Thank you for submitting your contribution.  We will incorporate it as a non-consensus text in the consolidated contribution from the DEV RG.

Subject: [STDS-802-16] [802.16p][DEV RG] Addressing Scheme

Dear All,

I am ‘Anshuman’ from Samsung. Please find a contribution(C80216p-rg-11_0043) attached on M2M Addressing. I have uploaded the same as well.

The contribution proposes the following:-

  • M2M Group ID (MGID) of length 15 bits.
    • This is achieved by extending the space of STIDs by using the 3 reserved type bits. MGID is assigned from this 15 bit space.
  • A new ID named as M2M_ID is defined for identifying a M2M device within a group. This M2M_ID is proposed to be of length 16 bits.
    • A new IE “M2M Device Identifier IE” is defined to carry this ID.

The usage is:-

  • For downlink multicast, only MGID is used. The CRC of Broadcast A-MAP IE will be masked with the 15 bit MGID (besides the 0 MSB).
  • For unicast operation, any assignment IE (UL or DL) should be followed by the M2M Device Identifier IE.

Any comments are welcome.

Regards,

Anshuman
