All,
I tried to connect to the conference, but was rejected with a phone
message that noted "insufficient lines". This is a concern, in general,
as well as this instance in specific.
Censuring attendance due to insufficient lines in inappropriate.
If CISCO has insufficient lines and/or resources, this can be
easily resolved by utilizing freeconference.com.
I had offered to setup freeconference.com for this meeting,
both at Atlanta and through Necdet email. Instead, folks have
used an internal service that (whether intended or not)
censors free discussion by limiting the number of attendees.
The IEEE encourages openness within its meetings. This is a clear
violation of that policy, equivalent to rejecting members at the
door. I would _strongly_ suggest a change of services, to conform
to the "openness" of the IEEE meetings.
I hope that this limitation was an oversight. But, if not corrected
(in the future), it will be viewed as censorship and an appropriate
complaint will be registered with the IEEE.
An fustrated RPR (planned to be) attendee,
DVJ
