Re: [RPRWG] Upcoming 2003Jul30 FAH meeting & last meeting minutes

Jon,

Did you try a smaller value for advertisement interval? Fairness messages would take 8 mS to go from the head node to the tail node in the current set up. Changing advertisement interval to 20 uS would reduce it to 4mS + 40 *20 uS = 4.8 mS. I am sure that it would improve the fairness.

Also, I do not see the exponential ramp up in page 3 of your slides. Do you implement SetAllowedRateCongested in 9.2.2.9?

Thanks.

Necdet

I simulated the same scenario again and plotted the class C flows, for both aggressive and conservative mode. All class C flows should be treated equal by the fairness algorithm, but extremely large differences can be seen: http://www.ikn.tuwien.ac.at/~jschuringa/Simulations/reportKK1classC.ppt Regards,Jon

 Jon,
Thanks for the simulations also.
For the 1st scenario, could you please also show the throughput for
the Class C (FE) traffic flows from nodes 0, 38 and a few intermediate
nodes (say 10, 20, 30 and 37).
That would also be very useful.
Thanks,

As discussed at the FAH meeting today, here are a few slides detailing the
scenarios that we are examining in our simulations to study the issues
that
came up.
Sorry for the wide distribution list - once David and Necdet shrink it
to the FAH interest list, I'll respond to that list in the future.
Thanks,
