RE: stds-80220-requirements: FW: 802.20 Requirements - Repeaters
Marianna, John et al:
1 Where does $1k come from ? Reference to some other equipment, standards,
economic model ...?
Why is micro-cell so important here ?
2 Let us consider the issue of repeaters, per John' original note, see
below. Why, John, do you write in justification of the claimed need:
"Rational
1) This text clarifies the rational given at the meeting in
Singapore" ?
Note that I was unable to be in Singapore, so maybe I have missed key point
here.(?)

All,
I also missed the discussion about repeatears.
I wonder if the group has evaluated the stand-alone Access Points, at 1k$
cost, with optional remote radio activity co-ordination, and/or in-band
feeding, as an alternative to Repeaters?
I think that the requirement should address the micro-cell support; the
technical solution should be kept open.
I recognize the importance of micro-cell support, and the KTF paper was
extremely valuable in bringing deployment data.

Humbert, John J,
I am sorry that I couldn't attend last conference call for repeater issue
discussion. But I agreed with your proposal completely. Reflectors as well
as repeaters can be good solutions to solve a coverage hole. Operators can
choose which one is proper by service circumstance. I think you pointed what
I missed very well. I support your proposal.
