Re: [802.21] Reminder - updated detailed proposals due Jan 9, 2005



Ben,

Harmonization at this stage is completely voluntary between (or amongst)
proposers. I would think that if two proposals have decided to merge/harmonize
then in principle there is meeting of minds. After that it is just a matter of
discussing things out.

However, if one believes that there is not enough time for the harmonization
discussions to complete in time for the Jan deadline, one may want to pursue
one's individual proposal with details until such time that there is complete
agreement on the modalities of the harmonization.

I may add that as discussed earlier, harmonization can be at a work item level
rather than a complete proposal.
