Hi, I would like to give a presention to the Power over Ethernet Plus Study Group. Name of Presenter: Jo Walling The title is: Power over Ethernet - Requirements and Limitations Length of time req'd: 15 - 20 minutes, including questions and answers Description of topic: Discussion of code imposed limits and there out derived rating based upon material performances. Installled base is rated for mostly to 60 deg. C conductor surface temperature, but also to 60 deg. C ambient temperature. Consideration of heating due to current based upon calculation. The calculations cover as well cables and bundled cables. The assumptions for the calculations are very lenient - and It should be stressed that they are at least 50 % more lenient than the code imposed derating schemes. The installed base will not support PoE, if it is rated 60 deg. C. The rating requirement for PoE has to be raised to 75 deg. C. Kind regards, Jo Walling
