All: There was a short meeting to handle maintenance items this morning,
here are our results: • 1161: Forward to Editor Y:8, N:0, A:0 • 1162: Was not resolved • 1163: On hold requesting clarification from submitter. • 1164: Recommend Yair to revise drawing and resubmit. • 1165: Forward to Editor Y:6, N:0, A:1 • 1166: Forward to Editor Y:9, N:0, A:0 • 1167: Was not resolved • 1168: Handled by 802.3 Cor1, should be closed • 1192: Recommend change to: "dI/dt=35mA/ µs" Change diagram: Remove Rmin & S1, replace with
“current load black box” Remove references to S1 in procedures 1 and 2 Forward to Editor: Y:9, N:0, A:0 • 1193: Recommendation is to replace the text wholesale to: The PD shall turn on at less than or equal to VOn and
turn off at greater than or equal to VOff (as specified in Table 33–12) when connected to a PSE
through a 20Ω series resistor. The PD shall turn on or off without startup oscillation and
within the first trial at any load value. Forward to Editor: Y:7, N:0, A:1 • Current limits for short circuit (1162 & 1167), was
discussed. There were three general schools of thought, with varying levels of
support: o There must be some current limit to prohibit fusing o There is no need for maintaining 50-75ms in a short,
timing should be shorter o There is no need to provide foldback for less than 30V
(probably higher), you can turn off after dropping below 30V at the port. Cheers Mike Michael McCormack Business Development Manager, Power over Ethernet Products Voice: +1 603 222 8686 |
