Re: [802SEC] CD-ROM Duties

Some points of clarification:

You should not use a CD-RW for the master. You should use a CD-R.
The duplication house will make exact copies of the master, and they
have consistently told me not to use a CD-RW, but to use a CD-R
instead. I have also had trouble with cross-platform support of
CD-RWs, but never with CD-Rs.

The artwork needs to be redone each time so that you can distinguish
one CD from another easily. It would be very confusing to have a
handful of CDs all with the identical artwork (including the year
identifier). In the past, I have been asked to use a different
color artwork each year to make the different editions of the CD
easy to identify.

The license agreement that we must use also contains the year
identifier, so this has to be updated each time as well, and
we have found that it costs less and is less problematic to
use a local copy house (like Kinkos or an in-house copy shop) to
duplicate the license agreements and send them to the CDROM
duplicator for stuffing.
