Re: [802SEC] Ofcom response proposed editorial

Thanks, Jay.

The draft says:

*IEEE Std 802.15.3d "provides physical layer (PHY) at the frequency range between 252 GHz and 325 GHz"
*"WRC 19 has identified in footnote 5.564A... 137 GHz of spectrum between 275 GHz and 450 GHz that can be shared with EESS and RA” but does not specify where that 137 GHz sits within that range 175 GHz range. Is it true that it includes 275-325? If so, I think it’s important to say so.

So, would it be accurate, and clearer, to replace the sentence with this?:

This includes 48 GHz of the spectrum supported by IEEE Std 802.15.3d-2017. The remainder (X to Y GHz and I to J GHz...) can be used only under the regime of footnote 5.565, where protection of passive service from harmful interference is required.”

Cheers,

Roger

hi Roger,

Thomas saw your point on the line in the Ofcom response and here is a proposed replacement line:

“There are still 15 GHz of spectrum left in IEEE Std 802.15.3d-2017 that can be used only under the regime of footnote 5.565, where protection of passive service from harmful interference is required.”

I think it does work pretty well; are you okay with this editorial edit?

thanks
