Hi Abhi, The discussion relates to inclusion of various Cap IEs in a frame when transmitted on 6 GHz vs that transmitted on a lower band. There is no change to the rules related to inclusion of RNR IE and
the information it carries. àIf so, I think note should say “An EHT STA should only include the
Cap element applicable… ” , otherwise, the element term will be very broad, can be RNR or other staff.
According to your previous interpretation, I read your intention is to have some clarification on EHT STA, it has nothing to do with MLO, right? But not sure why you mentioned MLO in your last mail, Again, as the baseline already define the STA 6G rule, I don’t see the value to repeat it elsewhere.
Thanks

The NOTE is added for clarification (and as a reminder of these rules). Some members are of the opinion that MLO should not honor 11ax rules (please see other emails on the reflector related to this
topic). Regards, Abhi

The information in such element is totally for other AP/BSS. BTW, “An EHT STA that is a STA 6G does not include HT/VHT Cap IE”, The following STA 6G rule is already defined in 11ax, do you need to stress it again in the note?
“A STA 6G shall not transmit an HT Capabilities element, VHT Capabilities element, HT Operation element, VHT Operation element or an HE Operation element that contains a VHT Operation Information field.”

Hi Laurent, Thank you for your email. There two issue that we need to address with respect to the current sentence in the spec (note the sentence is a ‘shall’):

Hi Abhi, Yes, how to set the fields in Multi-Link element is described elsewhere, so the Note is not needed. I you want to make it clear that the sentence is for describing the BSS and not a reported BSS for MLO, you can add (it transmits “outside the Multi-Link element”), but it’s already quite clear as the sentence says “to include the channel
width it is capable of supporting”. Note that maybe the sentence is not fully right when using MBSSID (something to check). Thanks Laurent

Hi Yongho, Laurent, All, During yesterday's TGbe MAC call, I proposed the following resolution for CID 13863 in doc 11-22/1978.
There were some concerns expressed about the new paragraph (sentence related to reported STA ? highlighted in the snippet below). I am fine to delete the new (highlighted) paragraph since clause 35.3.3 provides guidance on the conditions for inclusion and contents of a per-STA profile for a reported STA. Clause 35.15 can focus on the contents of the transmitting (i.e., reporting) STA’s frame. Could you please let me know if the removal of the new paragraph addresses your concerns and/or if you have other suggestions? CID 13863 included for reference:
