I was referring to 2 commercially available (not experimental) PIN-PD
ROSAs. Both had sensitivity of -21dBm for BER of 1x10E-12.
I will be glad to provide the datasheets to anyone who requests
it. Because of IEEE policy, I cannot upload it to the server.

Subject: Re: [8023-10GEPON] D/S power budget & wavelenght plan
My proposal does not consider FEC to meet
the power budget.
I heard that a ROSA(PIN-PD) with -21dBm was reported experimentally.
I am not sure if the aggressive PIN-PD can be commercially achieved near future.
I think that we have to keep
the consistency with the existing standard if
possible.
So I suggest that the FEC should be just
optional like 1G EPON.

Dear, Mr. Yoon
This is Akihiro Otaka in NTT.
Thank you for the presentaiton.
I have a simple question.
I understand that your proposal is based on the aggressive
PIN and APD without FEC.
How do you think about the difference between;
1) normal PD with FEC
and
2) aggressive PD without FEC?
Best regards,
Akihiro Otaka
